The Chicago chapter is currently hosting educational workshops that focus on various demands of our Latine communities. We are the first chapter nationally to launch a space dedicated as a community resource center, the LOUD Lounge. Our Lounge is in the predominantly Mexican neighborhood of Little Village “La Villita”. In our lounge we host mental health support groups, we collaborate with the Chicago Police Department liaisons to host “charlas’ ‘ regarding community safety for our immigrant and LGBTQ familia, and facilitate grant writing workshops, among other educations. In addition to our work in the lounge, our community outreach efforts include sexual health education in Latine cultural festivals.
The Chicago chapter strives to be a safe and inclusive space for all members of our Latine community and all Chicago residents. We are dedicated to providing resources and support to empower our community to advocate for themselves and their needs. We believe that through education, collaboration, and community building, we can create positive change and progress for the Latine community in Chicago and beyond.
