One of our biggest challenges is time management and work volunteers as LOUD is volunteer based. It truly has to be a passion. Our biggest and most successful events have been AHF’s Florida AIDS walk and Miami Beach Pride. Our main aspect is to socialize in the community with our peers while educating and having fun while doing it. We have movie / game night throughout the year held in different locations, one being held at our AHF headquarters division. Mental health is huge and can be tackled in so many ways in which we plan to focus more on in 2023. We are always welcome in having more people join the mission who are committed. In Miami we hosted two major LOUD galas, 2017 & 2019. We honored Olga Tanon in 2017 and Luis Fonsi in 2019 with the Humanitarian Award. In 2017 LOUD Miami helped Puerto Rico with their Hurricane Maria Disaster, by sending food, generators and water to the island via airplane cargo. We again came together in 2022 for Hurricane Fiona, sending needed material to Puerto Rico, and Fort Myers. The Miami chapter has been established since 2013, we have had plenty of changes but we are still standing, focused and ready for whatever comes our way.
